Dog Flatulence!
Thunder from
down under? Yes, dogs do fart. One of my cockers will cut one and then turn
around and look at her butt as if to say, “Are you talking to me?” If you’re
feeding a good high quality food to your dog, flatulence is less likely to
invade your territory. But if you’re using some generic brand or feed a lot of
table scraps then your dog is going to fart. If your dog wolf’s down his food
they will probably swallow air and that will cause this un-wanted gas.
If your dog farts
once in awhile, well, that’s o.k. But if it continues it may be a good idea to
see your vet. One of my dogs suffers from allergies and I find that she tends
to pass gas at the most inconvenient times! I usually feed my dogs a tablespoon
of plain yogurt mixed in their dog food and this tends to help them digest
easier with less flatulence. Sometimes it’s wise to look into breed specific
dog foods and consider your dogs age when choosing a good quality food. Watch
the “treats” that you give your dogs as some of them can cause pretty stinky
results if not diarrhea.
Good luck and God
Bless
